Selangor FC brought three important points away from the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium with a 1-0 victory against Terengganu FC in the 2024/25 Super League yesterday. 

Selangor FC import striker, Ronnie Fernandez has once again scored the opening goal. He only needed 28 seconds to score the Red Giants' only goal, a move that started after Safuwan Baharudin intercepted the ball before being picked up by Alvin Fortes, then Ronnie Fernandez exchanged a 1-2 pass with Yohandry Orozco before he finished off the swift move with an expert finish. The Red Giants and The Turtles continued making numerous attempts on goal but ultimately luck was in our favour as the Red Giants manage to edge out the host as a result of Ronnie Fernandez's only goal. 

Head Coach of Selangor FC, Nidzam Jamil, is happy with the away win and feels that these three points will be able to motivate the players.

"Honestly, this is an important victory for the team because before of our struggling form in away matches, which has now improved and  hopefully this win can increase the motivation of the players. To win in Terengganu is not an easy job because they are highly competitive throughout the 90 minutes. If we talk about luck, in sports it is about preparation and hard work. I believe we have prepared thoroughly and we worked hard to get this victory. I like to say this is all the hard work of the players. I would like to remind you, in Selangor, it is not only who starts the match but also who comes in and help finish the match. The changes made today were very important. I am happy with the spirit and playing style of the players being brought in tonight," explained Nidzam Jamil.

Azim Al Amin continues to excel 

Selangor FC's young goalkeeper continued to show his excellent skills in yesterday's match. He was effective in guarding the goalposts from being concededand manage to thward all threats thrown at him by the opposition. 

Defensive line discipline 

Attempts and dangerous runs from Terengganu FC were successfully broken by the defensive line who had to maintain discipline, especially the two centerbacks, Umarbek Eshmurodov and Harith Haiqal as well as Sharul Nazeem on the right side and Zikri Khalili on the left side. Not forgetting the inclusion of Khuzaimi Piee who was praised for his dedication even though he has not played for awhile. 

Yohandry Orozco MoTM #TERSFC

Selangor FC has chosen Yohandry Orozco as MoTM for this match. He is well known for his accurate passes that can lead to goals. Orozco once again proved his skills after his final pass set up Ronnie Fernandez for the opening goal as early as 28 seconds into the match.

Red Giants striker Ronnie Fernandez is currently second on the 2024/25 Super League Top Scorers list with eight goals including a #TERSFC match goal. Despite a slow start, he now continues to score goals consistently in every game. 

The next match will see Selangor FC receive a visit from a club from the Philippines, Dynamic Herb Cebu FC for the second match of the ACL2 stage at the MBPJ Stadium on October 3rd at 8pm local time.
